Wick & Tallow brings a bold touch of British individuality to the luxury home accessories and fragrance industry, offering our own unique take on traditional products by combining an emphatically British style with an eccentric sophistication. We take inspiration from centuries past and combine this with cutting edge design and manufacturing techniques to create time-honoured products with a contemporary approach. Each individual product is the result of exacting attention to detail, with every aspect designed in house and hand crafted in England using only the finest materials. Born out of a love for good design, great fragrances and a deep respect for heritage and character, Wick & Tallow exists to challenge the conventional and established market, engendering our products to the masses.
Alice studied textiles at Wimbledon art school before enrolling at the KLC School of Interior Design. A lover of scents and a regular visitor to Portobello market, Alice quickly saw a niche in the market and set out to fill it, setting up her own home fragrance stall there in 2009. Making candles at home and selling them at the market allowed Alice to follow her passion for scent and design, leading to a loyal fan base for her products. Alice works on all the scent development and heads up Wick & Tallow’s bespoke service. In Alice’s free time she enjoys skiing, cooking and visiting art & design galleries and together with James they have a daughter, Isla and son Archie.
Since graduating with a degree in Product Design from Central Saint Martins in 2008 James spent seven years overseeing Production, Operations and Exhibition logistics for Carpenters Workshop Gallery, developing and delivering limited edition pieces for discerning collectors. James is responsible for all Wick & Tallow’s branding, graphic and packaging design and concept innovation. He works closely with Alice to continually develop the creative direction of the company. In his spare time he enjoys visiting art and design exhibitions, skiing, music and reading the Sunday papers with Alice, their children Isla and Archie and their dog Willow.
